How can you
help? |
| |
|
We need you! Although we have a trusty
army of volunteers, more help is needed
if we are to achieve our goals. We need
lots of help but doing your bit can be
tailored to fit in around your everyday
life – there will be something you can
do. We need: drivers (to occasionally
drive to/pick up volunteers from Gatwick
airport and for convoys), people who can
help us raise funds, a mechanic to help
us service our vehicles used on convoys,
people to do admin work such as
answering letters and doing mailings and
others to help sort through donated
items. |

|
Transport |
|
It is our intention to run at least two
convoys per year, in the Spring and in
the Autumn. Each trip will last for 13
days and we will be carrying out vital
refurbishment projects at various
children’s units in hospitals or
orphanages. To arrange these convoys we
need reliable transport, in particular
mini-buses or vans with at least 2 side
windows. The vehicles will need to carry
members of the convoy and supplies, and
will need valid documentation for a
3,000 mile trip. |

Refurbishment Programmes |
|
Many of the hospitals and orphanages are
in a deplorable decorative state,
especially the bathroom and toilet
areas.
If you feel you would like to devote 13
days to some hard, but very rewarding
work then please contact us. |

Fundraising |
|
The most important, yet difficult job
for us is to raise money. A little goes
a long way in Belarus and buying
equipment and goods over there will not
only help boost the economy, but will
save ourselves very expensive
transportation costs and time with
sorting aid.
We are always looking for assistance
with fundraising. This can be small
scale events such as coffee mornings,
boot/table sales and taking part in
sponsored events, or helping us
co-ordinate larger events.
Perhaps you would simply like to make a
donation. Cheques should be made payable
to “Leaves of Hope” or “Leaves of Hope”
Prevention Project depending on which
part of our charity interests you or you
can make a donation on line
(See link below).
