A Huge Thank You to
Lipson Vale Primary School, Plymouth |
| |
|
The Children and staff
of Lipson Vale Primary School have been
supporting Leaves of Hope for over 3
years now. They have raised funds
through school raffles held at Easter
and Christmas each year. They have
already raised over £1000. |
|
|
|
The money raised has
mainly helped the children at Zhordina
Orphanage near Minsk in Belarus where
over 80 children aged from 3 to 6 years
live. It has bought Christmas presents
and paid for Christmas parties for the
Children. Last year the money helped to
buy all the equipment needed to run a
summer play scheme for the children -
which was a great success. The play
scheme will be running again in July
2009 and already Lipson Vale has raised
enough money to buy the equipment for
this year. |

Lipson Vale
School became involved in
supporting Leaves of Hope
through Mrs Val Burt, who works
at the school. Val is the sister
in law of the charity’s
secretary.
In addition to supporting Lipson
Vales' fundraising efforts Val
has also raised over £2500
herself in the past 5 years by
selling Russian crafts and
jewellery to friends and
colleagues. The money raised by
Val has supported the charity’s
work in refurbishing the
orphanage.
